Procedure for the Official GED Test

 


You can apply for the Official GED Test on-line or through the mail.

 

 

On-line Procedure

1. Must have an email account. We can help you set one up.

2. Set up a Safe Account with Ohio Dept of Education (ODE). Have a drivers license and social security number handy.

4. Complete the application on-line.

Follow instructions to send a money order for $40 to Ohio Department of Education or use your credit card during the application process.

5. After three weeks (if you sent a money order) check on-line at ODE website. Use your safe account to access the secured database to see if you are ok to test or call 216-797-2942.

6. Once you are approved,call a local testing site to register for Official GED Test . Bring an Ohio Photo I.D. or Drivers's License on the day of the test.

7. You can check you scores on-line within 2 weeks using your safe account.

Paper Procedure

 

1. Fill out an application, have it notarized, and send it to Columbus for approval before signing up to take the test. Allow at least 4 weeks for approval.

Call 216-797-2942 to verify you are approved. Attach a money order for $40 to application.

2. Register in advance to take the Official GED test. Bring an Ohio Photo I.D. or Drivers's License on the day of the test.

3. Results will be sent to you within 6 weeks.
