Looking for employment or a change of occupation? You might consider working for your local schools. In the Business Department we have a variety of jobs from Driving a School Bus or being a Bus Aide to Food Services and cleaning services.
Almost all of our vacancies are filled from the ranks of substitute employees who fill in for absent employees on an "as needed" basis. Cleaning substitutes are likely to be second shift workers working eight hours a day. Food Services substitutes work 3-5 hours daily from morning to just after lunchtime. Bus aides and drivers start early in the morning, have layoff times during the day and finish in the 4 to 5 P.M. time slot.
Advance training is required for all positions and you must meet job description requirements. Training and certification are provided to those interested in learning how to drive a school bus. All school district employees receive extensive background checks and interviewing. BCII checks and FBI fingerprinting is done for all employees initially and every 5 to 6 years thereafter.
