Grades K-5 Computer Use
Euclid City Schools have seven elementary schools (K-5) each housing Apple computer labs with a Promethean Interactive board, network printers, mobile carts with iBook computers and on the average 4 stand alone computers in every classroom. Thomas Jefferson has a computer lab with 28 computers, 2 mobile carts with 15 laptops each and a "21st Century Classroom" with 15 iMacs, 15 laptops, projector and a Polycom unit for distance learning. Lincoln Elementary also has a 21st Century classroom with 14 iMacs, 15 iBooks, projector and a Polycom unit for distance learning. Lincoln has a mobile cart with 25 iBook computers and a third grade classroom with a one to one laptop program with 28 iBooks. Lincoln also has an ActivStudio Board by Promethean in all their second and third grade classrooms. Both Roosevelt and Memorial Park Elementary have a computer lab with 28 computers and two mobile labs with 25 iBook computers on each. Indian Hills has a lab with 28 computers and a mobile cart with 20 iBook laptops. Glenbrook has a lab with 28 computers and three mobile carts with 15, 25 and 25 laptops. Upson Elementary has a computer lab with 28 computers and four mobile carts containing 25 laptops on three and 15 on the fourth.
Grades 6-8 Computer Use
The two middle schools are similarly equipped. Each has an Apple Computer Lab which houses 30 eMacs, a Promethean Interactive board and network printers. The Media Centers at both buildings are equipped with eMacs. There are 25 computers in the Media Center at Forest Park and 30 in Central’s. The computers in the Media Centers are used for a variety of research projects and are available for use during study halls. Bothe buildings have a state-of-the-art 21st Century Classroom. Central Middle School has 4 mobile carts each containing 25 iBook computers. Forest Park Middle School has 5 mobile carts. Four of the mobile carts contain 25 iBooks, and the fifth cart contains 15 “clamshell” laptops.
Grades 9-12 Computer Use
Euclid High School has six Apple computer labs that are open for teachers in all curriculum areas. They contain a printer, projector and at least 26 computers. There are seven PC labs at EHS that are utilized by teachers for Keyboarding, CISCO, CIS and Office classes. The Art department has a "mini" lab of 18 Apple computers for digital art work. The Criminal Justice class utilizes 13 PC computers and iPads for research and writing in their lab. The high school media center was updated with new furniture, wiring and computers. They have seven PC's and 11 Apple computers available for student use during lunch periods and study halls. A teacher favorite is the mobile lab. EHS has seven mobile carts with 25 laptops. These are delivered to individual classrooms where students can connect to the internet wirelessly. In addition to all of these labs there is a computer in every classroom for teachers to do grades and school work.
