Professional Development
Teachers at ECS have a variety of opportunities to receive professional development.
- New teachers to the district receive a day of IT training to familiarize themselves with the resources in their schools such as email, network accounts, software, hardware and web pages.
- Teachers can get credit by participating in Euclid's Digital Academy. Here they learn how to incorporate project based learning in their classroom with technology.
- Euclid also offers a summer institute on Apple iLife. A certified Apple specialist trains teachers for one week during the summer on their software. Part of that training includes creating lessons to use in their class.
- Forest Park and Central have received a Texas Instrument grant for technology in the classroom.
- Euclid also has a semi-annual tech day for teachers. This is an all day event where teachers select from many different workshops offered throughout the day to gain insight and ideas on how to incorporate computers in their classroom to enhance the curriculum.
- In addition to all of this, there are opportunities for teachers to attend mini-workshops within the school day to become acquaint them with emerging technologies.
