May 3rd Ballot Issue - Facts

The district has worked hard to tighten its belt, and has been responsible with taxpayer money.  Issue 2 is a necessity for our children’s future, and our City’s.

This 6.9 mill operating issue will protect essential programs, teachers, technology and textbooks students need.

The district has been responsible with taxpayer dollars and Issue 2 is part of a long-term plan to keep the district viable.

  • The budget has been cut $3.7 million with cuts to teachers and staff, a staff pay freeze in and reductions to benefits.
  • Even if the levy passes $2.4 million in planned cuts have been approved for the 2011-12 operating budget. That’s a total of $6.1 million in cuts through the 2012 school year.

Without Issue 2
our schools will be forced to cut an additional $1.5 million, bringing the total to $7.6 million.

  • Programs, teachers, textbooks and technology will be dramatically reduced
  • Bussing will be reduced
  • Residents will have less access to district facilities
  • Extracurricular programs will be cut
  • The education and preparation our children deserve and Euclid needs to compete will be at risk
