November 16, 2016--We begin this process with extreme gratitude for the Euclid community. The support and opportunity provided to our students is indicative of how our electorate believes in education. Thank you for the honor of allowing us to reshape how the future of education is delivered in the city of Euclid. We recognize that we have significant work ahead of us, this is only the beginning. So as we embark on this journey we will continue to uphold our district goals of student achievement, fiscal responsibility, and credibility.
The purpose of this blog will be to keep a constant flow of information accessible to all residents. We will provide updates as they become available.
At the end of last week, we had our first meeting with our design architect, Architectural Vision Group regarding the locally funded portion of the Finish The Job project which includes the Early Learning Village, Sparky DiBiasio Stadium renovations, and Memorial Park. Due to the fact that these parts of the project are not co-funded, we do not have to go through the State of Ohio selection process for an architect and construction manager.
We are working to develop timelines for the completion of each project. These timelines will be dependent upon our first meeting with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission later this week. During this meeting, the OFCC will determine the selection of architects for the middle school/ high school portion of the project.
Generally, the planning period for facilities projects is anywhere from 12-18 months. As soon as we determine the selection process we will begin to have engagement meetings with staff, students, parents, and community members to determine what needs to be included in the buildings. A few things to keep in mind as we begin this process. The renderings that you have seen are just a shell of areas throughout the building. These are conceptual renderings, the actual design is born out of collaboration with the community and conceptual drawings.
