Good evening families. This is Dr. Smialek, Proud to be the Principal of Euclid High School.
I am calling this evening to inform you of two honors recently earned by Euclid High School students. First, senior Joe Barwick finished first in the nation in the annual CISCO competition held last week in California. CISCO is a computer networking system that students can learn about in one of our career tech classes. This is the second year in a row that we have been home to the top CISCO student in the country. Congratulations Joe!
Next, our Varsity Chorale is currently a finalist on a competition to determine the top performing show choir in the region. This event is sponsored by Fox 8 news. Our choir needs your vote to take first place in this competition. Please log on to fox8.upickem.net to vote for our students. Our Varsity Chorale is a source of pride for our school and they need your support!
Thank you for your time this evening.

"Good evening families.
This is Dr. Smialek, Proud to be the Principal of Euclid High School. I am calling this evening to review Spring OGT procedures with you.
Next week, March 15-19 is our spring session for the Ohio Graduation Test. All tenth grade students will take the tests. 11th and 12th grade students will report for the tests which they still need to pass. Students will learn this week of their testing location. Testing begins promptly at 7:40. Students who enter the school after 7:45 AM will not test during the morning testing session.
9th grade students and those 11th and 12th grade students who have passed sections of the tests will report to school at 10:30 AM. Our busses will make a second run for these students three hours after their first run.
If you have questions about your need to take a test, please see or call your child's guidance counselor.
We are also posting this information on our website at euclidschools.org."
Thanks,
Charlie

Good evening families. This is Dr. Smialek, Proud to be the Principal of Euclid High School. I am calling this evening to inform you of a new procedure that we are beginning.
We have found that too many students are cutting classes during the school day. This is very detrimental to both their own learning and our school climate in general.
We will begin to sweep our halls once per day during an unnannounced period. Students in the hall without a valid pass will be swept to ALC. They will remain in ALC until a parent or guardian can come to school to meet with an administrator. Again, students who cut class and are caught in our truancy sweeps will remain in ALC until a parent or guardian can come to school to meet with an administrator.
We believe this procedure will help us to keep our students where they belong---in our classrooms.
Thank you for your time this evening.
