Payment in Lieu of Transportation

In order to receive payment in lieu of transportation please follow the steps below:

  1. Parents/Guardians must fill out the Transportation Reimbursement Forms (see link to the right). 
  2. Completed forms should be returned to the Euclid Board of Education (c/o Glenn Hummell) 651 East 222nd Street, Euclid, Ohio 44123. 
  3. Forms MUST be postmarked by October 11, 2019. Requests received after this deadline will NOT be accepted. The State only gives the District funds for reimbursements based on the number of requests received and submitted by their deadline for the current school year. 
  4. The district will notify you that your forms were received. 

In accordance with RC 3327.02, the board of education of a city, exempted village, or local school district may determine that it is impractical to transport a pupil who is eligible for transportation to and from a school under section 3327.01 of the Revised Code.

If the parent, guardian, or other person in charge of the pupil accepts the offer of payment in lieu of providing transportation and providing that all appropriate documentation and procedures identified in code have been completed, the board shall pay the parent, guardian, or other person in charge of the child an amount that shall be not less than $250.00, and not more than the amount determined by the department as the average cost of pupil transportation for the previous school year. (RC 3327.02 (D) and section 263.170 of HB 59)

Payment may be prorated if the time period involved is only a part of the school year.
