Telling Our Story

I created the Weekly Callout to keep you informed about how we're preparing Euclid's children for success.
The purpose is so you can learn more about the wonderful initiatives and programs going on around the district.

Celebrating Black History Month

The Early Learning Village invited the community this week to help celebrate Black History Month.

Parents and community members volunteered to read to our preschoolers and kindergarten students during the school’s African-American Read-In. The guest readers read books written by African-American authors.  Early Learning Village Principal Sanya Henley said the school provided the books, refreshments and “an excited group of students.”

African-American Read-In“I hope the volunteers got a sense of who the Early Learning Village students and staff are,” Mrs. Henley said. “I hope they felt appreciated and welcomed. The goal of every family engagement activity is to bring us closer and make the families and volunteers want to come back.”

African-American Read-Ins are held throughout the country to introduce readers to African-American authors whose work elevates African-American experiences.

The African-American Read-In is one of many activities that the school does throughout the year to engage families. The school also invites family members monthly to see its Fab Lab, the only fabricated laboratory space designed solely for early learners in the country.

Thank you to readers who volunteered your time to read to our early learners.
