Shoreview Elementary shifts to virtual learning for Dec.3, 6, and 7

Euclid Schools is committed to the safety and health of our students and staff, and we continue to make decisions with their safety in mind.  We want to inform you that we have a number of staff members at Shoreview Elementary out due to illness, and project this to continue for a number of days.

As a result, we have determined the safest course of action for our students is to close our school for the next three school days (December 3, 6, 7), until we can be more fully staffed.  This closure will start tomorrow, December 3, 2021.  During this time, your students will be learning remotely.

Students are expected to login at 9:00am.  We will follow the regular school day schedule.  Students were given the login information for Google Classroom and Zoom during the day on Thursday.  Teachers are aware of the challenges of remote learning and will work in several breaks throughout the day.

We were able to send home one iPad charger per family today.  Please remind your child that the iPads should be used for lessons and charged when not in use.  Other chargers you may have at home can be used to charge the iPad as well.  The iPad, charger, all books, and any papers completed during remote learning need to be returned to school on Wednesday, December 8.  Lunch will be available for pickup on Monday and Tuesday between 11:00am-1:00pm.  You can pick up on Gilmore Ave. near the playground.

We are working closely with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and if anyone has been identified as a close contact of COVID-19, we are contacting them directly with directions about quarantining and testing.

All of us should continue to monitor for symptoms and follow the guidance of the Ohio Department of Health regarding distancing and indoor masking during this time. If anyone in your household develops symptoms, or tests positive for COVID-19, you should immediately isolate and call your physician and The Cuyahoga County Board of Health, 216.201.2000
