This morning students notified Euclid Middle School staff that they had concerns involving threats based on text messages that were circulating between students. Some specific students were included in the threats. The families of these students have been directly contacted by Euclid Middle School Administration. If you did not receive notification from the school, then your child was not mentioned in any of the concerning text messages. Euclid Police Department is actively conducting further investigation, specific to the text messages.
We also received a series of random phone calls that did not have any threats but caused concern when coupled with the other information that was reported by students this morning. These phone calls were mostly hang-ups that are now believed to be unrelated to the other communications. However, out of an abundance of caution, we wanted to vet these calls and trace them back to the caller. Nothing credible has been found at this time.
All students that entered the building this morning were screened using the Evolv Weapons Detection Systems, as they are every day, and nothing concerning was discovered.
We are now resuming regular class schedules at our Secondary Campus, and the lockdown has been lifted.
The Euclid Police Department will have a presence on the campus all day, extending through dismissal time, as a precautionary measure to support our Euclid Schools Department of Public Safety.
We have entered into a precautionary lockdown at the Euclid Schools Secondary Campus due to social media threats made. Our Department of Public Safety has notified Euclid Police Department and are working together to investigate this situation. Please do not come to the school at this time–no one will be allowed in or out of the building.
The Easter Bunny will be hopping into Euclid Community Stadium on Saturday, we hope you can join us!

This morning, the water main running under the Memorial Options Center burst, and later it was found to have collapsed in sections. The burst and collapsed pipe flooded the crawl space and resulted in the loss of the water supply at Memorial. The water in the crawl space is being pumped out to give the plumbers more access to assess the damage.
Initially, the contractors informed the district that water would be back on by noon. However, after that projected time passed, the crew found that the damage was far more extensive than originally anticipated. Drinking water was supplied, and the building custodian manually flushed toilets throughout the day.
Crews will return tomorrow to reassess the damages and begin to make repairs to the lines. The Memorial Options Center will be closed on Friday, March 3rd.
Applications for students interested in our career tech programs must be submitted by February 20th. To view Lakeshore Compact's CTE catalog check out the link below, or visit lakeshorecompact.org.
