About the Memorial Options Center

The Educational Options Center exists to provide a variety of educational pathways for Euclid’s diverse learners by offering eLearning platforms for grades 1 - 12 and in-person education combining digital and hands-on, project-based coursework for middle school students.

Our Mission

The mission of the Educational Options Center is to teach workforce readiness skills, inspire curiosity, increase educational engagement, and prepare our students for a meaningful entry into the world of work or post-secondary education and training. We do this by supporting the whole child in their acquisition of foundational skills, their exploration of well-rounded content, the development of their leadership skills and the provision of social and emotional support through embedded wraparound services for students and families.

Our Unique Approach

Our school uses a unique approach to help students that may be at-risk of slipping behind their peers or who benefit most from a non-traditional classroom. Students are engaged in project-based learning where they work alone and in groups to solve real-life problems. We are also home to the Euclid Virtual Learning Academy (EVLA) which serves our students who find that they learn best in the online format.

Our Services

The Educational Options Center works in partnership with Peter James Development and Independent Living, Inc. and Cuyahoga Community College to offer additional support to our students and their families. The professionals from Peter James offer individual mental health counseling, both in-person and via telehealth, and skills groups. Counseling services are available to students and families, while skills groups are limited to Educational Options students. Through the Aspire program, Tri-C offers adult education courses for the Official High School Equivalence Test.

Our Programs

  • Euclid Virtual Learning Academy

    • EVLA 1-5

    • EVLA 6-8

    • EVLA 9-12

      • Each of the Euclid Virtual Learning Academies is an entirely online school available free to all Euclid students in grades one through 12. EVLA coursework is based in the eLearning platform

Edgenuity and is a self-paced option for our most independent and motivated learners. EVLA students have the assistance of a program facilitator to guide their coursework without an in-person attendance requirement. Placement is typically one school year and is a family-initiated choice using an application process for acceptance.  The last day for Euclid Families to apply for EVLA will be 8/31.

  • Panther Academy

    • Panther Academy (9-12)

    • Panther Middle (6-8)

      • Each Panther program uses the Edgenuity eLearning platform.  Panther programming is self-paced and independent but is also accompanied by weekly in-person instructional sessions offered from 8:30 am to 6 pm on weekdays. Students are placed into Panther by administrative decision. Placement length varies according to student need but is typically for the remainder of the school year.

  • Panther Assist

Panther Assist students continue the coursework from their home school and have the option of in-person or virtual tutoring to facilitate academic progress while they are out of school. Panther Assist placement is typically 10 - 45 days, depending on student need and reason for placement.

  • Thrive

    • Thrive plans to add eighth grade in the 2023-24 school year while maintaining a cap of 20 students per grade level. In 11th grade, Thrive students will be encouraged to consider continuing their career exploration by choosing to pursue one of 22 career technical courses available through the Lake Shore Compact.
