About Our School

An exceptional school for extraordinary learners

Our Vision

To instill a love for learning and exploration in our students through experiential learning and a creative curriculum. Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) will be integrated across the disciplines to stimulate each child's creativity and natural curiosity in order to combine the content with innovative teaching methods and an engaging environment to encourage every individual child to reach their maximum potential. Each child will be prepared to compete with all the same age peers from anywhere in the world.

Our STEM Approach

Our school uses the Engineering is Elementary Curriculum from the Museum of Science: Boston, designed to foster engineering and technological literacy. The students are engaged in project-based learning where they work alone and in groups to solve real-life problems.

Our Curriculum

The curriculum at Chardon Hills STEM School is high quality and based on research. Technology is an integral part of this curriculum as we provide an iPad for use during lessons for every student in the building. Students participate in both small group and whole-class reading and math lessons, with instruction designed to address student strengths and needs. Gifted learners engage in challenging lessons throughout the day that encourage them to take ownership of their learning. Additionally, all students have opportunities to extend their learning through participation in field trips and extra-curricular activities.

Our Promise

Chardon Hills is committed to working with families to provide students a rigorous education in a supportive environment. We will communicate regularly about student progress, school events, and what your child is learning in school. We promise to be your partner in helping your child succeed.

Our Expectations

Chardon Hills STEM School requires students and families to complete an application and go through a selection process to be considered for admission. Students will be required to follow a dress code and, along with their families, pledge to meet the "Chardon Hills School Promise" developed by our Family School Partnership Committee.

Dear Chardon Hills Families,

Welcome to the Chardon Hills family! This school year promises to be filled with many wonderful opportunities, as we build a quality educational foundation for our children. The Chardon Hills staff is committed to providing engaging, meaningful and rigorous lessons, combined with special events and activities – both inside and outside of the classroom. We extend a sincere, yearlong invitation to our families to join us at those activities. We want . . . we need . . . and we value your involvement in your child’s education! Please know that Chardon Hills highly values home/school/community communication and partnerships, as they are vital and integral components of our children’s academic and social success. Please keep communication open with the school and your child’s teacher, and stay in the know about your child’s studies, assignments, assessments, and school activities, as well as other events and happenings.

Our focus is always on improving our students both academically and socially. We believe that you serve a very important role. Please ask your child open-ended question each day about their experiences and learning. Make sure your child arrives at school on time every day ready to learn. You are encouraged to volunteer your own time and talents at Chardon Hills. Together, along with your child’s effort, they will achieve!

We are honored that you have chosen Chardon Hills for your child’s education.

Sincerely,
Stacie Spears
 Principal
