Thank you to Ms. Ruple for setting up the Hawken Community Day.
The students in Mrs. Hickmanβs class enjoyed playing math games with high schoolers and getting to ask them questions about high school.

We had 27 staff who were here the 1st 20 days of school. We randomly selected 3 for Browns STAY in the GAME shirts.
Way to LEAD by example!
We will be awarding kids tomorrow as with perfect attendance shirts too.

We are all set up for the FATHER's WALK tomorrow. It starts at 7:15am.

Thank you to Mrs. Reddix for making it and heading up Attendance Awareness Week.
Starting our year strong with team building activities to set the tone for the culture we want to have during P.E. class.
Students had a great time running relays to put together our class expectations, passing a pig around using different body parts, building our hula huts and Crossing the River.
All this was done with problem solving skills, using effective communication, incorporating STEM and most of all TEAMWORK.
Great job Mrs. Strempel's class.

Panther buck winners from this morning!
They went on a treasure hunt that took us to the playground, they had 15 minutes a play and chose a prize from the treasure chest on the way back to class. π
Great job modeling the 3R's.

Great professional development this afternoon about our new math curriculums (Bridges and Envision.)
Lots of information on best practices!
Always GROWING!

We are ALL Growing this year. We are working together to get better each day for our Panthers!
We discussed TIER 1 instruction. We discussed assessments scaffolding, what we are doing to support their learning.
We are also preparing our RIMPS and for conferences with parents at conferences.

Mrs. Jakubisinβs first grade class was busy last Friday. We created popsicle stick puppets of characters we read about in our Fables and Stories Unit. Partners then retold the story using the puppets. Selected students reenacted the beginning, middle, and end of the story. We learned that each of the stories we read in this unit taught a lesson.Β
In STEM, we created a maze using straws. We talked about where we can find mazes in the real world, and looked at an example. Students had a blast creating their own mazes, and we canβt wait to test them out on Tuesday.

Mrs. Rodgers' 4th grade students learned to use their inquiry skills as they experienced being field scientists in our Chardon Hills schoolyard!
We loved seeing the collaboration between the students.
Go Panthers! π
