In 5th grade science, students have been using their engineering and math skills while learning about ecosystems.
After learning about different ways that human activity can impact the organisms that live an ecosystem, specifically from oil spills, students put their engineering skills to use. Our students tested out a number of materials and tools that could be used to remove an oil spill to determine which ones were most effective.
After evaluating the effectiveness, students collaborated to develop and design their own method to remove an oil spill from a model ecosystem, using the materials and tools of their choosing.
To determine the success of their design process, students used grid paper and then calculated the fraction, decimal, and percent of their model ecosystem that still had oil remaining in it.
This is STEM learning in action at Chardon Hills!”

Here are some of our PERFECT attendance award winners for 1st Quarter and some MOST IMPROVED award winners for the 1st quarter.
These students were randomly selected from our lists to receive some extra Browns Swag.

The look of pure joy when you find paper ghosts under cups ☺️.
Students played Ghosts in the Graveyard where they had to run down and look under cups to find as many ghosts as they could with their teams.
The amount of cheering and high fives was incredible! A good reminder of how the simplest things can make these kids so happy 👻😎.
Way to make exercise FUN Mrs. Strempel!

We had a great time at the Euclid HS trick or treat evening! We got to see so many Panthers and their families!
Thx to all those who put on the event for the community! 🧙🐺🎃🐆

Good Morning Panthers!
We had a HUGE backup today at drop off!
You can drop off your child starting at 7:45am.
We have a large # of drop offs in the AM.
Please continue to PULL UP all the way and DROP OFF as soon as your car comes to a rest along the side walk.
This will help the back up in the AMs.
Thank you for your attention to this!
In today's faculty meeting we discussed "major or minor" infractions. We discussed strategies to help students make better choices.
There was great conversations by our staff looking for what will motivate our kids to be the BEST VERSIONS of THEMSELVES!

Coat Donations:
It's starting to get cold. Some of our Panthers do not own coats.
If you have any extra heavy coats at home that you would like to donate, please drop them off in the front office.
Thank you in advance. 🧥🥼
We have our Halloween Parade/Parties coming up soon.
Next Thursday is the day. If you have any extra costumes you would like to donate to our school, please send them in this week.
We would love to have them as "extras" for those kids that don't have one.
Mrs. Johnson’s girls group made fall trees by rolling strips of paper.
This is called quilling. It was a wonderful first meeting!
We love creating these opportunities for our young ladies.
Thank you Mrs. Johnson for heading this up.

The Kindergarten classes had a blast at the Five Senses Carnival.
Students listened to shaker eggs to determine the hiding object, smelled various food items, watched a 3D video, explored shells and rocks with a magnifying glass, and explored different textured items.
Students tasted sweet, sour, and salty food items at the Popcorn Bar. 🍿

All that and a bag of chips winners!
