The Board Meeting Breakdown - February 11, 2026

The Euclid Board of Education met on February 11, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Fordyce Administration Building.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Board President Gabrielle Kelly, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

All five Board Members were present. Assistant Superintendent Karen Brown stood-in for Superintendent Papouras who was at an Educational Conference.

The Board reviewed the evening's agenda and removed one policy from review. The Board approved the amended agenda.

The Board adopted the minutes for the January 14th and 21st, 2026 Board Meetings.

The Assistant Superintendent read a proclamation recognizing the week of March 15th as Severe Weather Awareness Week and the week of March 2nd as National School Breakfast Week.

Treasury/Financial Business

  • This portion of the meeting covered the district's financial data. Euclid Schools Treasurer Patrick Higley led the Board Members through the District Financial Statements.

  • The Board approved the Financial Data report for January 2026 and approved payments.

  • The Board approved the Board Service Fund.

  • The Board approved a motion to approve the filing of a Real Property Valuation Complaint for an undervalued property.

  • The Board accepted the donation of $5,000 from an anonymous donor and a donation of Gloves, Hats, Scarves and Gift Cards to the Early Learning Village from the Church of the Epiphany.

  • The Board adopted the revised Five-Year Forecast.

Reports and Recommendations of the Superintendent

  • Contracts/Agreements

    • The Board approved two Memorandums of Understanding with the Euclid Schools Secretaries United and the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association in regards to their collective bargaining agreement.

    • The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding for ChanceLight to resolve matters related to the recognition clause of the supplemental agreement.

  • Personnel

    • The Board approved changes to Certified and Classified personnel, including resignations, terminations, retirements, permanent substitute appointments, non-teaching appointments, non-teaching assignments, extra duty, athletic duty, and athletic duty resignations.

  • Routine Business

  • The Board authorized membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association for Euclid High School and Euclid Middle School.

  • The Board approved agreements with Lakeland Community College and Cuyahoga Community College for the College Credit Plus Program that provides opportunities for secondary students to enroll in college-level courses.

  • The Board approved the implementation of an After School Credit Recovery Program that will use the Edenuity platform to help students earn credits and courses needed for graduation requirements.

  • Miscellaneous

    • The Board approved the acceptance of the Ohio Attorney General’s Formula Based School Safety Grant and the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation Matching Safety Grant to implement security camera systems at the main entry points of elementary facilities to improve safety and monitoring.

Policies

  • The Board reviewed several policies, including: NIL in Athletics; Attendance; Promotion, Placement & Retention; Bus Driver Certification; Transportation; Nondiscrimination; Purchasing & Bidding; Procurement; and 504/ADA.

Superintendent’s Informal

  • Assistant Superintendent Brown talked about how the Euclid Schools are celebrating Black History Month and the importance of honoring Black History.

  • Mrs. Brown stressed the importance of attendance, especially with the Presidents’ Day and Spring breaks approaching.

  • Mrs. Brown congratulated EHS Student Justin Allen on his selection to be in the Disney Dreamers Academy.

  • Mrs. Brown reminded families that there will be no school on Friday, February 13th or Monday, February 16th.
