Today we remember those who lost their lives, those who stepped up to serve, and the countless sacrifices made in the days, months and years after the attacks. May we never forget.

The Euclid Schools are aware of a social media threat naming several area schools, including Euclid, this evening. We take all threats seriously, and upon discovering this post, the Euclid Schools immediately notified the Euclid Police Department. We are working with the Police to help identify the source.
At this time, we do not have any reason to believe that this copycat social media post is credible.
We will continue to monitor the situation and make the appropriate adjustments if EPD deems it necessary.
Unfortunately, these types of threats are part of a growing trend on social media. Please help us by talking with your children about the seriousness of threatening posts on social media and the potential repercussions. Encourage your child to be part of the solution.
As always, if you see something or hear something. Please make an administrator aware immediately or call the Euclid Schools “See Something, Say Something” Safety Line at (216) 797-STOP (7867).

The safety and security of our schools remain our top priority. Although there has been no credible threat to our schools, recent events in our community prompted us to enact several of the safety and security methods we have available.
Today, our middle and high school security staff conducted thorough searches of all lockers on campus for contraband and illegal items. We are pleased to report that no contraband or illegal items were found. These periodic searches are part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a safe environment for everyone and will continue throughout the year. We ask for your help in reinforcing this message with your children.
Additionally, the Euclid Police Department requested an adjustment to our high school dismissal procedures this afternoon to expedite the departure of students from campus. To accommodate this, we initiated a staggered dismissal at 2:00 p.m., with all students released by our normal release time, 2:15 p.m. The Euclid Police were present on and off campus to assist in ensuring a smooth and safe process.
We want to emphasize that there was no credible information suggesting any immediate danger. These actions underscore our commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all students, staff, and visitors.
We ask for your assistance in maintaining campus safety. If you or your child become aware of any information or rumors that may impact the safety of our schools, please inform an administrator or call the Euclid Schools “See Something, Say Something” Safety Line at (216) 797-STOP (7867). Additionally, please discuss your child’s dismissal routine and their arrangements for leaving campus promptly.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Christopher Papouras
Superintendent

Late last night, a tragic shooting occurred in our community, impacting five students, including those from Euclid City Schools and other local schools. With deep regret, we share that one teen has passed away as a result of this incident. While the student was not enrolled in Euclid City Schools, we mourn the loss of a young life and extend our deepest condolences to the family and community.
Starting Tuesday, counselors will be available at each school every day this week to support our students and staff during this difficult time. We are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment and will continue to uphold strict safety protocols in all district buildings.
The Euclid Police Department is leading the investigation, and we are cooperating with their efforts. As always, we ask our community to join us in keeping our campuses safe. If you see something, say something. Please report any safety concerns or share information related to this incident by calling (216) 797-7867 (STOP).
Our thoughts are with all those affected, and we remain committed to the safety and well-being of our entire school community.
