ELV Students dressed up for 100th Day Celebration

Smiles, creativity, and a few gray wigs filled the halls last week as students at ELVTwo ELV students dressed up for 100th Day Celebration marked their 100th day of school with a full day of themed learning and celebration.

Reaching the 100th day is an important milestone in the elementary years. It represents 100 days of growth, friendships, skill building, and perseverance. At ELV, teachers turned the occasion into an opportunity to reinforce math concepts while making learning joyful and memorable.

Throughout the day, students participated in hands on activities centered around the number 100. In one classroom, students carefully counted and placed 100 Froot Loops onto counting boards, strengthening number sense and one to one correspondence skills. In another, students used pattern blocks to create designs made up of 100 shapes, combining math with creativity and spatial reasoning. Cookie projects added another layer of fun, giving students a delicious way to practice counting and grouping.

Perhaps the most entertaining part of the celebration was the Four ELV students dressed up for 100th Day Celebrationfashion. Many students arrived dressed as 100 year olds, complete with glasses, suspenders, cardigans, curlers, and walking canes. The playful outfits brought plenty of laughter while helping students better understand the concept of 100 in a tangible way.

Beyond the fun, the 100th day of school serves an important academic purpose. It reinforces counting to 100, grouping by tens, recognizing patterns, and understanding place value. These foundational math skills are essential building blocks for future learning.

Most importantly, the celebration highlighted how much students have accomplished in just 100 days. From learning routines and building literacy skills to mastering math concepts, ELV students continue to grow each and every day.

Here’s to 100 days of learning and many more ahead.
