Euclid High School’s Panther Cheer Squad continues to build a tradition of excellence after bringing home another State Championship at the 2026 OASSA Cheer State Championships in the Hype Division. With this victory, the Panthers are now BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPS!
The 2026 championship also marks the third straight year that the Euclid cheerleaders have qualified for the state competition, an achievement that marks the dedication and discipline of the students who represent Euclid High School on the Gymnastics mat.
The Hype Division is designed to showcase the high energy spirit performances that cheerleaders bring to athletic events throughout the school year. Routines emphasize crowd engagement, sharp motions, coordinated students and synchronized choreography that mirrors the excitement of a Friday night football game or a packed Daugherty Gymnasium. The judges evaluate a number of criteria including timing, technique, creativity and the team’s ability to energize a crowd.
For the Panthers, success at the state level is the result of months of preparation and teamwork. Cheerleaders commit to extensive practice schedules where they refine their routines, build strength and endurance and develop the timing and communication required to perform as one unit.
Through their participation in Cheerleading, the students are also developing leadership skills, learn to collaborate with others, and build confidence in front of large audiences. The structure and expectations of competitive cheer also reinforce important habits such as time management, accountability and goal setting.
Cheerleaders also serve as ambassadors for Euclid High School and the Euclid Schools. Throughout the year, the Cheer Squad supports athletic teams, performs at pep rallies and helps cultivate the Panther Pride that Euclid is famous for.
Earning another State Championship title places the Panthers among the top programs in the State and shows that Euclid is becoming a powerhouse.
Congratulations to the Euclid Panther Cheer Squad on another outstanding season and their second consecutive OASSA Cheer State Championship!
