Last week, Euclid High School standout Kei’Shjuan Telfair has officially announced his commitment to Penn State Nittany Lions football, where he will continue his academic and athletic career as a defensive back.

Telfair, currently a four-star recruit for the Panthers, has made a name for himself as one of the most dynamic players in the state. Contributing as a Wide Receiver, Defensive Back and Kick Returner, he has drawn significant attention from programs across the country. Over the course of his recruitment, Telfair received 41 Division I scholarship offers, including interest from nationally recognized programs like the Clemson Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Ohio State Buckeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and reigning National Champion Indiana Hoosiers.

His commitment marks a major milestone for the Euclid Football program. Telfair is the first Panther to accept a scholarship offer from a Big Ten program since Thaddeus Gibson’s commitment to Ohio State in 2006. He also becomes the first Power Four Conference recruit from Euclid since recent standouts Arquon Bush and Armond Scott.

Penn State was the first Power 4 school to offer Telfair in October 2024, shortly after he gained national attention for a viral for a one handed pick-six. That early interest, combined with a strong relationship built throughout the recruiting process, helped solidify his decision.

New Penn State Coach Matt Campbell helped seal the deal on Telfair’s most recent visit to State College, PA. While visiting, they discussed Kei’Shjuan’s future at Penn State, where Campbell told him he expects him to play Defensive Back, but may find opportunities for him on Offense and Special Teams.

At this time, Telfair expects to graduate early so that he can join the Nittany Lions before Spring Semester 2028.

We’re looking forward to a thrilling Senior Season for Telfair and the rest of the Panthers, many of whom are garnering attention from more Division I schools.
