Introducing Dr. Ariel Hayes, Head Principal Euclid High School

Euclid City Schools is proud to announce that Dr. Ariel Hayes will serve as the next Head Principal of Euclid High School.

A familiar face to the Euclid Schools community, Dr. Hayes previously served the district as both a mathematics teacher and assistant principal. Since leaving Euclid in 2014, she has continued to grow as an educational leader, serving as principal in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, most recently at John F. Kennedy High School.

Dr. Hayes brings a strong background in instructional leadership, school culture, student achievement and community engagement. Her return to Euclid is a full-circle moment for an educator whose leadership journey has deep roots in the district and community.

In addition to her professional history in Euclid Schools, Dr. Hayes is also a Euclid resident. Her connection to the district and city position her to lead Euclid High School with a meaningful understanding of the students, families, staff and community she will serve.

Dr. Hayes earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Adolescent Mathematics Education from the University of Toledo. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cleveland State University, where she also later obtained her Superintendent’s Licensure. In 2024, Dr. Hayes earned a Doctorate of Education from Youngstown State University. She was also named a Cahn Fellow in 2024, an honor that recognizes strong school leaders and supports their continued growth and impact.

“Returning to Euclid is especially meaningful because this community helped shape me as an educator and a leader. Having previously served as both a teacher and assistant principal, I understand the pride, resilience and potential that exists within Euclid City Schools,” Hayes said.

“I am committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, families and the community while continuing to move the school forward academically, socially and culturally. I believe every student deserves a school environment where they feel supported, challenged and prepared for success after graduation. I’m excited to begin this work alongside the Euclid community and look forward to partnering together on behalf of the students.”

Dr. Hayes will be replacing Mr. Corey Russell, who has moved to the Fordyce Administration Building to serve as Executive Director of Education and Workforce for the Euclid Schools.

The Euclid Schools is excited to welcome Dr. Hayes back to the district and looks forward to this next chapter of leadership at Euclid High School. With her experience, connection to Euclid and commitment to student success, Dr. Hayes is well prepared to lead Euclid High School into the future.
