The Board Meeting Breakdown - August 12, 2026

The Euclid Board of Education met on August 12th, 2026, in the Board Room at the Fordyce Administration Building at 7:00 pm.

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by Board President Gabrielle Kelly, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

All Board Members were present.

The Board reviewed, amended, and accepted the agenda for the evening.

The Board adopted the minutes from the July 8th and 22nd Board Meetings.

Recognitions
Superintendent Karen Brown, Board President Gabrielle Kelly and the three young men that participated in the REACH program posing for a photo.

  • The Board recognized four students who completed the REACH summer enrichment program. REACH

    is a rigorous summer enrichment program for academically talented African-American middle school young men and college undergraduates.

    The five-week, tuition-free program for middle school boys is challenging and is designed to teach boys lessons concerning focus, thoughtfulness, creativity, persistence, determination, courage, resilience and excellence.



    EMS Students Jaiden Robertson, Avin Hickson and Aaron Jackson then shared about some of their experiences while participating in the program over the past few summers.

  • This portion of the meeting covered the District’s financial data. Euclid Schools Treasurer Patrick Higley led the Board Members through District Financial Statements.

  • The Board approved the Monthly Financial data and Then & Now Listing.

Reports and Recommendations of the Superintendent

  • Personnel

    • The

      Board approved changes to Certified and Classified personnel in the form of resignations, terminations, retirements, permanent substitute appointments, non-teaching appointments, non-teaching assignments, extra duty, athletic duty, athletic duty resignations, and leaves.

  • Contracts/Agreements

    • The Board approved a partnership with Rozell’s Nails Academy for the 2026-2027 School Year. Rozell’s will provide technical education for the Euclid Schools Manicuring Program for Euclid High School students.

    • The Board approved a service agreement with Soliant Health to provide supplemental healthcare staffing services for the 2026-2027 School Year.

    • The Board approved an agreement with revised language with Amergis Healthcare Staffing Services to provide supplemental healthcare staffing services for the 2026-2027 School Year.

    • The Board rescinded a previously approved agreement with Amergis Healthcare Staffing Services.

  • Contracts/Agreements - Title Services

    • The Board approved agreements with MEG Inc to provide Title services to Our Lady of the Lake School for Fiscal Year 2027.

    • The Board approved an agreement for the 2026-2027 School Year with the ESC of N.E. Ohio to provide the service of pooling TItle I funds for qualifying students that reside in Euclid and are enrolled at Cleveland Central Catholic H.S.

  • Curriculum/Instruction

    • The Board approved the purchase of the TCI Middle School Social Studies Curriculum for grades 6-8. The purchase includes student and teacher materials, digital licenses, teacher guides and other classroom resources for a five-year period.

  • Routine Business

    • The Board approved sliding tuition rates for the Early Learning Village for the 2026-2027 School Year.

    • The Board rescinded a resolution to approve stipend payment from the Lake Shore Compact to allow approval of a corrected Special Pay Control Form.

    • The Board approved a stipend payment from the CTE Perkins Grant for providing leadership and coordination for CTE operations and events at Euclid High School.

    • The Board approved an agreement with Care Alliance Health Services, Inc. to provide improved access to health care services in Euclid Middle School and Euclid High School.

  • Policies

    • The Board approved second and final readings on policies regarding Nondiscrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Anti-Harassment Policies for Administrators, Certified and Classified staff.

    • The Board rescinded outdated policies regarding Nondiscrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Anti-Harassment Policies for Administrators, Certified and Classified staff.

Superintendent's Informal

  • Superintendent Brown talked about summer winding down, noting the Start of School dates -- Monday, August 17th for students in grades 1-6 and 9th Grade, and August 18th for students 1-12th Grade.

  • Mrs. Brown discussed Convocation, where the district's mission of "Making an Impact" and giving our students a competitive advantage was the main highlight of the day.

  • She also reminded the community and Euclid Schools families about the upcoming Back to School Bash, which will be held in Daugherty Gymnasium on Saturday, August 15th from 11am-2pm. There will be school supplies, haircuts, vendors, community service providers, voter registration tables and plenty of giveaways throughout the day.
